Davey Family Céilí Band

The Daveys of Dunderry, Co. Meath, are a remarkable family of musicians. Three of them play together in the band: Nigel, the virtuoso on the button accordion, sister Amanda on flute and their father John backing everyone up on keyboard. The line-up is completed by fiddle player Laura Beagan from Co. Monaghan who has played with the band since she was at school.

The Daveys play bright, lively music which is just as fast and steady as the dancers like it, with a stimulating collection of tunes. They play regularly for céilís, competitions, weddings and other events and travel to Manchester and London several times a year. They have also been one of the featured bands of the Spanish Fleadh, a week-long set dancing holiday in Spain.
