Sharing a stage for the
first time in over 25
years, RtCT are proud
to present a double bill
featuring accordionists
John Whelan and Karen
Tweed.
John, originally
from Luton but now
residing in Milford,
Connecticut, was
Karen’s most influential
teacher and they will
be playing solo and
together, revisiting their
shared repertoire of
traditional tunes and
compositions by Finbarr
Dwyer, Paddy Fahy
and Ed Reavy, plus evergreens learned from Mick Mulcahy,
Kevin Burke, Jackie Daly, Joe Burke, Mick Butler, Martin
Donohue, Des Hurley, Mick Kenny and Mary Bergin.
They will be joined by superb English singer-songwriter
Reg Meuross and the brilliant guitarist Adrian Burns.
Karen and Adrian will also be launching the release on
CD of their cassette of session tunes made in 1985, when
they frequented the sessions in the Good Mixer, Camden
Town. There may be a few surprise guests to join them - a
little trip down the backlanes of musical memories.
