Raw Bar Collective
(Conal Ó’Gráda, Benny McCarthy and Dave Sheridan)

With a refreshingly unfussy approach to playing, the Raw Bar Collective delivers an electrifying and earthy style of Irish traditional music. A fluid co-operative of the finest instrumentalists, RBC has quickly become celebrated for the power and passion of its live performances.

The band’s debut CD, Millhouse Measures, is a live recording, showcasing the talents of the core trio of Conal Ó Gráda - flute, Dave Sheridan - fiddle and Benny McCarthy – accordion, augmented by singer Nell Ní Chróinín and Colm Murphy, one of the finest bodhrán players.

Cork born Conal is a multiple All Ireland winner on the flute and has two critically acclaimed albums to his name Top of the Coom (1990) and Cnoc Buí (2008). Offaly born fiddler Dave has toured extensively at home and abroad and recorded the CD Faoi Bláth with friends Ciaran Somers and Nicolas Quemener. He now lives in Carlow where he runs a folk club with his wife, fiddler Michelle. Waterford born accordionist Benny McCarthy started playing at the age of 13 under the tutelage of Bobby Gardiner. He is a founding member of the internationally renowned band Danú.
